Menagerie Coffee | Philadelphia

Menagerie Coffee, a brand new café in Old City is pitch-perfect in its combination of gorgeous design and amazing coffee (two things that I’m quite particular about).

My good friends Michael and Hunter, in collaboration with Osborne Construction and Niko Dyshniku worked for many weeks on transforming 18 S. Third St into a truly lovely space, repurposing old bowling alleys, wood from decommissioned water towers, antique window frames and lots of other salvaged materials throughout.  Their attention to detail and fine craftsmanship is undeniable.  The stunning mural in the back is a photograph by Corey Kingston of Takk Travels, a travel blog that focuses on Nordic café culture and design.

I took these in the first couple of hours that Menagerie was open to the public.  Sunlight was streaming through the front windows and skylights, Fleetwood Mac was on the stereo, and the whole place smelled amazing.

Not a bad morning at all.
